Rye Playland is the best. Westchester County’s premier amusement park in Rye, NY, it’s located right on the Long Island Sound. With kiddie rides, adult rides, a tiki bar and restaurant nearby, it’s a super fun way to treat the family. Maybe it’s because I’ve been coming here since I was a kid (my parents used to surprise us in the car twice a summer…they would tell us to hop in the car, that we were going out to eat, and then, surprise!!!..feels like it was yesterday), and the nostalgia of it all, but seeing my girls’ faces light up in the very place I used to freak out myself, makes me smile every time. I love it. And I am not an amusement park kind of person.
Maybe it’s the size – it’s not too big – and maybe because it’s on the water, but, really, maybe it’s just because here in suburbia Westchester we have our little own amusement park a short drive away. It’s so easy. It’s been around forever, and is such a part of the community. No need to go to Hershey Park, for the little kids at least, because Kiddie Land rocks. I still love it and go on the rides they allow me to, ha.
Playland is old-school fun, and if you go on a Friday night, they have fireworks. It’s only open during the summer – closes after Labor Day – so there’s only 11 more days to go if you haven’t been! 7 days, if you want to see the fireworks. It’s a Tri-state area classic, and if you live in or are visiting the area, go!
It appears that Josh is having a great time also. There is always a little kid in all of us.

Looks like such a fun place! I wouldn’t mind going myself 🙂

So funny – not sure who’s more excited – the kids or us.
