This photo was taken on the same day last year, June 21st, the official start to summer. Visiting my old home town of Brooklyn, NY, the weather and temperature were just right for a stroll along one of my favorite places on earth, the Brooklyn Heights Promenade. With its magnificent views of lower Manhattan and the Hudson River, it still amazes me that I was once fortunate enough to call this place – this neighborhood – “home”. I will always be in awe of its sheer beauty, especially during a summer sunset.
Wherever you are or wherever your travels bring you, happy first day of summer!
Love the photo. I also have enjoyed this view

Thanks Mom
Best time of the year! I get two summers this year, now and when I go back home to Australia in November.

Aaaahh luck you, Carly!
When I was being Nanny that was my most favorite place to go. I still try to share the grandeur of the place. Thanks for reminding me today of the beauty and peace found there

Thank you mytravelmonkey!
A late afternoon promenade walk and then dinner at a good local eatery might be in the cards sometime this summer. Cheers, LPC

Definately!
Lovely photo.
I didn’t get to see the sun today, but it’s nice just to know it was there.

Thank you Jay!
Gorgeous photo and happy first day of summer to you too! It’s been lovely here in the UK, so even more horrible having to drag myself into the office! Thanks so much for linking up with #MondayEscapes. Ps. I tried to read your other post, but it says the link is not found?

Thanks Ting! Uggh I don’t know what’s going on with the link – I know that some people have been able to access it via WordPress (and according to my site it’s there), but yet when I linked it to Facebook one of the links said the same thing “page not found”. Will have to get in touch with WordPress later today..thanks for letting me know!
That is simply beautiful!
