Hello and welcome to fifi + hop! As a travel lover and parent, I’ve created this blog as an informal travel resource for families who love to go exploring with the kids as much as I do. Don’t let parenthood hold you back from what may seem like your pre-kids travel days – there are endless options for family trips, and for kids of all ages. In fact, traveling with children has opened up so many more doors of exploration and discovery, that going places I hadn’t really considered before now seem like the greatest trips and excursions ever.
As I live in Westchester County, NY, undoubtedly much of what I will cover will be in New York and the Tri-State area – but it will not be limited to just that. I will be writing about any trips we take, on the East Coast or West Coast, U.S. or abroad. Posts could range from a local museum visit to an international vacation, for my philosophy is that travel and adventure can happen anywhere, near or far. I like to emphasize the “near” part, because with having kids of any age, taking off to explore sometimes isn’t always so easy, and a nearby escape may do just the trick. Traveling with babies can be a challenge, yet the older kids get, with all of their weekend activities, time becomes an issue too. So, I always like to think of adventure being everywhere, even if it’s 10 minutes away.
I hope you get as much out of reading this blog as I do writing it. I am also excited to continue pursuing one of my favorite hobbies – travel photography. What good is reading all about a place without seeing it too? I’ve always loved capturing a setting in the time and mood of that exact moment, and perhaps even more importantly, having a collection of images to showcase my travels.
Thanks for visiting my blog and I hope you enjoy it!
